A petition has been filed to the Circuit Court of Montgomery County this week. There are a lot of legal words in the document like "hereto" and "capricious". When translated to English, it states (briefly):

1. The owners of neighboring property are not happy with the plans of building the track
2. They are concerned that the track have plenty of noise, odors and dust that will keep them from the enjoyment of their property.
3. They are concerned about the their property value going down because of this
4. There were no apparent noise level tests to determine the noise levels

Though the potential revenue to the area that will be generated in and around the track will be a boon to the community the concerns of the nearby residents are valid. The folks who filed the document do not fully understand that although the average person may not deem the adjacent property valuable, a motor head considers it priceless. Without the track, the property has value. With the track the property value goes up to the right buyer.

No word yet on the plans or response from Ronnie Moss and the MAR Park group. No attempt by Area Rides to contact MAR has been made. We'll get news soon enough.
