Gary Hogue's 1969 Nova
Everyone wanted to get their hands on this long awaited special edition series kit. It was the first new tooling of a third generation Nova since AMT's version. For this build, Gary used nearly the entire kit. He used the original 383 small block right out of the box. To this he added a resin Powerglide transmission, intake maniford, valve covers and air cleaner from his own after market parts. The engine in wired and plumbed and has a Pro Tech carburetor. The coil and MSD units are from Replicas and Miniatures with many photo etched parts from Detail Master. The paint is Testor's One Coat lacquer (1845m) Mystic Emerald and clear coat. This model has a lot of detail that has to be seen in person. It took Gary three months to build.
Gary "Big Daddy" Hogue is a member of the Midwest Model Vehicle Association out of Kirkwood, Missouri. He frequently shows at the Kirkwood Model Show.
